Church of St. Ignatius Loyola NYC Project Overview

In September of 2014, Metal Man Restoration was hired to restore the sanctuary doors at St. Ignatius Cathedral in New York City. The church was erected in 1851, and the doors were in poor condition and had not been restored in 15 years.

The Problem

The bronze doors were in poor condition, with many layers of oxidization, aged clear coating, dirt, and grime.

The Solution

To restore the doors, Metal Man Restoration spent over two weeks on the project, restoring the doors on-site. The doors were refinished to their natural finish and then clear coated, giving them a renewed shine and restoring their beauty to their original state.
