Newark City Hall Project Overview
In April 2006, Metal Man Restoration was hired to restore the exterior bronze lighting fixtures and window hardware throughout Newark City Hall. The job included restoring two large front entranceway lighting fixtures and six small side bronze entranceway fixtures. The restoration project was completed in the Metal Man Restoration facility.
The Problem
The exterior bronze lighting fixtures and window hardware throughout Newark City Hall had become tarnished and covered in old paint and grime. The fixtures needed restoration to bring back their original luster and ensure their continued use.
The Solution
Metal Man Restoration restored the facility’s exterior bronze lighting fixtures and window hardware. The fixtures were stripped of all old paint and grime, and glass bead blasted to bring back the original bronze finish. The fixtures were then oxidized (patina) to a statutory finish, with other areas left with a bright sating bronze finish. The restoration brought the fixtures back to their original condition and ensured their continued use in Newark City Hall. The restoration work was recognized with the New Jersey Historical Restoration Award for the “Exterior Restoration of Newark City Hall,” highlighting the quality and excellence of the work performed by Metal Man Restoration.
