Chandelier Restoration – Step By Step

At Metal Man Restoration, we take great pride in restoring chandeliers to their former glory. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of our chandelier restoration process:

Step 1: Dismantling and Photography

First, we carefully dismantle the chandelier and take numerous photographs before and after to ensure accurate reconstruction when we’re finished.

The Chandelier is dismantled, and all the pieces are laid beside each other to show everything. Note the last photo, where you can see the before and after of the finish.

Step 2: Cleaning and Glass Bead Blasting

Next, we dip the chandelier items in our environmentally safe cleaning solution to remove grime and other contaminants that have accumulated over the years. Once the items are cleaned and dry, we use glass bead blasting to restore them to their original finish. In this case, the final finish will be a satin (rough) brass finish.

Step 3: Refinishing

Once the glass bead blasting is complete, we move on to refinishing. This involves applying a high-quality finish to the chandelier components, which can include polishing, electroplating, or painting, depending on the project’s specific needs.

Step 4: Rewiring and Reconstruction

With the refinishing complete, we rewire and reconstruct the chandelier. Our team of skilled electricians will ensure that the chandelier is safe and fully functional, while our metalworkers and craftsmen will carefully reconstruct the chandelier to its original design.

Step 5: Final Product

The final product is a beautiful, fully restored chandelier that looks as good as new. Our attention to detail and commitment to quality ensures that every chandelier we restore is a work of art, and we take great pride in the satisfaction of our clients.
