Franciscan Church of the Assumption Syracuse NY Project Overview

In August of 2014, Metal Man Restoration was hired to restore the main and side entranceways at the Franciscan Church of the Assumption in Syracuse, NY. The church was erected in 1843, and the doors were never restored.

The Problem

The bronze doors were in very poor condition, with many layers of oxidization, aged clear coating, dirt, and grime. The doors required significant attention, including casting new small finials that were missing.

The Solution

Metal Man Restoration spent over a month on the restoration project, with the on-site restoration of the doors and removal of some items for restoration at our facility, including door handles, lighting fixtures, and moldings. The doors were refinished and oxidized to their original patina finish, restoring them to their original condition.
